Description: This biketrain departs from The West Coffee Shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, travels along Borinquen Pl to South 4th, where we hop on the Williamsburg Bridge. We will take it slowly over the bridge. At the base of the bridge on the Manhattan side, we will ride north on Clinton a block, take a left on Rivington, and a right on Allen/1st Ave. We take 1st Ave until 17th, where we take a left and follow 17th until Union Square. There are a number of routes to Union Square, so I am happy to mix it up based on preference and needs.

Various pickup locations along the way can be organized if needed. If you feel safer if a bicycle escort meets you near your home for the full length of your journey beyond the route described above, accommodations may be available. We can also try to coordinate rides back uptown in the evening. Please e-mail us to coordinate.

Important Notes:

- We ride safe and legal, and leave on time. Let your conductor know asap if you can’t make it (see conductor info above for best contact info).

- An important goal of the biketrain to allow less experienced cyclists to gain experience and confidence — and provide safety in numbers. That means it needs to be accessible to newer, slower riders. If you’re speedy be prepared for a more leisurely pace. As participation grows, biketrains can always break into faster and slower packs.

- New York law requires your bike be equipped with a bike bell and reflectors at all times and front and rear lights at night. Helmets are strongly encouraged.

- You ride at your own risk, but we’re a friendly, safe bunch, so plan on having a good time!
